Ok yes, it’s summertime, and winter activities are probably not top of mind…but it’s HOT outside! When you need a break from fun in the summer sun, cool down with skiing! For indoor or outdoor use, these easy to make skis and ski poles can entertain your kids for hours. Or maybe five minutes, but better than nothing…
What you’ll need:
- Cardboard from leftover boxes, cut into ski shapes
- Plastic bottles, milk jugs, or tissue boxes, with holes cut out for feet
- Wooden sticks for poles
Decorate with markers or colored tape. Tape the skis all around for better glide. Attach the bottles to the skis with tape, and tape around any sharp edges. Decorate the poles, and add ribbon or rope for handles.
Create an obstacle course to follow through the house or on the lawn, or make mini slopes using firm pillows. You should probably supervise this part!
Now you’re all set to ski along with Elsabeth!
